Last Month’s Recap
Community Liberation Programs continued our work into April with our Political Prisoner Letter Writing Night and Decolonization Programs in Oakland Chinatown and San Francisco.
We also want to remind everyone about our ongoing fundraiser for the future CLP community center: a dedicated space for organizing, programs, education, and care. If you haven’t donated yet, now is the time to help us bring this vision to life!
Keep reading to learn more about what we’ve been building, and how you can plug in.
Programs for Decolonization
Community Liberation Programs currently has two programs for decolonization in Oakland Chinatown and San Francisco’s Mission District. We provide groceries and essential goods to more than 245 Chinese elders in our community and train cohorts of youth in Street Medicine. GiveButter Campaign
Help CLP Expand Our Decolonization Programs
We’ve raised $17,185 so far for our GiveButter fundraiser! Help us reach $18,000 this month!
Our goal is to raise $15,000–$20,000 by March 2026 to secure a permanent home for our work: the Community Liberation Center, and thanks to your continued support, we’ve raised over $580 in the month of April.
Right now, our ability to serve the community is limited as we don’t have a dedicated space to organize from. With your support, we can change that. Please consider donating and share with your comrades so we can build together a space for the community!

CLP Statement of Solidarity with the Alliance of Sahel States (AES)
The Alliance of Sahel States (AES) —Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger—have taken significant strides towards sovereignty. Despite sensationalism around President Traoré’s condemnation of Western democracy, the three alliance members demonstrate what true uplifting of a nation and the people means. From centralizing military capabilities to developing independent transportation infrastructure to innovating new technologies, the AES becomes more self-reliant and less vulnerable to foreign coups that seek to upend their path towards liberation. There is no room for compromise when sovereignty is on the table.
Commemoration of the Martyrdom of Lil Bobby Hutton
We remember and salute Lil’ Bobby Hutton, the first recruit and treasurer of the Black Panther Party in Oakland, CA. On April 6th 1968, Hutton was murdered by OPD, just weeks away from his 18th birthday. In his time with the BPP, Hutton was key in the organization’s growing militancy and discipline. Lil’ Bobby Hutton’s deep revolutionary commitment and resolve should set the standard for organizers of today.
May 9th - Sovereignty & Submission: Jihad Against Empire with Islam & Revolution
Join us May 9th in SF for a critical political education program exploring sovereignty, submission, and the foundations of Islamic struggle.
Empire sustains itself through extraction, sanctions, and the control of land and labor. Nations that refuse this order are met with punitive measures-yet continue to resist and win. From the war abroad to the war at home, we confront empire as a total structure and ask: what does it mean to refuse submission and for dominion to belong to Allah alone?
Community Liberation Podcast
In April, we recorded a new Combat Liberalism episode on Decolonization, Settler Colonialism, and the Pitfalls of the Western Left.
